A referendum on NATO membership - seriously?

Volt Slovenija would have liked the government to push for Eurobonds or European defense integration to allow us to reach 5% or any percentage above 2% of GDP on defense spending while protecting our social welfare state. Instead, the government is holding a referendum on Nato membership - the latest in a series of misuse and disrespect of referendums by parliament.

Minis discover Europe - our webcomic

We are launching a comic to explain the European Union. It is designed by Slovenian artist Izar Lunaček and made possible by Sven with the help from the Dutch Volt There Foundation. The two protagonists are Hedge and the Professor, called the “Minis”. In our strip, Hedge has just been elected to the European Parliament and now they discover the European Institutions.

Politics unfortunately remains a profession often hostile to women and on this March 8th and international women’s day, it is worth stressing how important contributions from women are for a functioning political system and representative democracy.

Draghi or why we need to think outside the national box

It has been a few days since Mario Draghi published his report on competitiveness in Europe.
