Volt MEPs

In the recent European elections, Volt Europa, advocating for a more united and stronger European Union, achieved remarkable success by securing 5 seats. Two Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) were elected in the Netherlands and three in Germany. With its progressive ideas and inclusive politics, Volt attracted over 1.4 million voters across Europe, marking a significant milestone for the young pan-European party.

Congratulations to the new Volt MEPs:

  • Reinier Van Lanschot (Netherlands)

  • Anna Strolenberg (Netherlands)

  • Damian Boeselager (Germany)

  • Nela Riehl (Germany)

  • Kai Tegethoff (Germany)

Founded in 2017 as the first pan-European party, Volt aims to build a stronger, more inclusive, and more connected Europe capable of addressing the challenges of the 21st century. The party seeks to enhance the EU’s effectiveness in areas like climate change, digitalization, human rights, and social justice.

Volt operates in 30 European countries and first participated in European elections in 2019. Despite being a relatively new party, it has consistently demonstrated a commitment to innovative and pan-European politics that transcend national divisions. By electing 5 new MEPs, Volt has laid the foundation for even greater influence in the years to come.

The party advocates for reforms that bring the European Union closer to its citizens while strengthening the European Parliament’s role as a key legislative body. Its platform includes fostering collaboration among member states, protecting the environment, reforming migration policies, and increasing accountability in political institutions.

The European Parliament now prepares to welcome the new MEPs, who will continue their work with fresh energy and ideas for a better European future. The "purple wave," as their political breakthrough has been called, is just beginning.
